Celebrity and Royal Hairdresser Richard Ward – “Tangle Angel was born due to client demand”
Customers and stylists on the salon floor often found that other detangling brushes slipped out of their hands as they had no handle whereas some of my 80-strong team of stylists and technicians like to hold their brushes around the body for greater control so we needed a design that worked for both the consumer and the professional.
Clients were telling me that they’d like a compact version of the Angel to use at the gym and on the go so we’ve come up with the Tangle Cherub, our mini Tangle Angel. It’s great for children, too.
It is unusual in this industry to find a truly unique product that works. I can honestly say that the Shine Angel does just that. The revolutionary V-shape bristles not only grip and polish the hair to create a beautiful shine, but also condition the hair and give incredible volume.
We were chatting to our Brand Manager Sam one day about Tangle Angel and she confessed that she’d been using hers to groom her long haired cat. That got me thinking – so I asked our salon team to ask their clients and we soon found out that she wasn’t alone. Hence, Pet Angel was born. Using the same bristle formation and technologies but with firmer bristles and a larger pad.
After much research we realised that nearly all pet grooming brushes are made from metal but also look quite torturous and perfunctory. That’s why we came up with our strapline – ‘Makes Grooming your Pet a Pleasure not a Pain’ as the feedback has been amazing – not only is it kind and gentle but it’s clearly very giftable. We’ve got clips from our testers of their animals experiencing pain free, hygienic grooming and they’re great to watch. The fact that it was tested on humans just adds to the story!
